The most valuable currency these days is now the most difficult to get control over:
Time.
It is all too easy to get sucked into cyber space or caught up in business and not actually enjoy simply being present–being ‘in the moment’. I’ve made a promise to myself (a mid-year resolution, if you will) that I will take some time out everyday and enjoy nature. My backyard is an oasis of wildlife and beauty, and it is easy to take for granted. When I take time to slow down and enjoy nature’s beauty, I find myself becoming a kid again. Not worrying about what tomorrow will bring, but just loving this very moment, and feeling and hearing and seeing the earth’s beauty first hand.
I’ve been doing a lot of soul-searching lately, and after a few books, audiobooks, and life experiences, I now know that keeping your soul or spirit healthy is just as–if not more–important than keeping your physical body healthy. I’m learning about meditation and body-soul harmony and the importance of trying to keep your mind “present”– it’s actually a pretty difficult thing to do. Every year we get older, the more responsibilities and obligations we have just simply by being a part of our society. It’s a big, scary world out there if you don’t mentally prepare yourself for it.
Tomorrow is never promised, so what are you waiting for? 😉
I actually was just looking for a 365 project. I thought there was a list of 365 things to take a pic of. Good luck with your project
